Extensive Protection From Monsoon Rains
The need of a splash panel was surfaced after the torrential rainfall in 2020 seeped into the lift. The lift was rendered out of service for numerous months. This event expedited the need for some quick, innovative & valuable industrial solutions.
Slippery Danger
The torrential rains that poured at an angle, posed multiple safety issues. It will become a slippery hazard as the corridor in front of the lift is wet and slippery. This will follow with the seeping of overflowing water into the lift. The rains has also gradually affected the structural integrity of the rubbish chute.
Design With Love To Last
As an industrial designer living at the block, the empathy for the design is strong. The criteria & brief for the project are: The panel should be value for money, lasting with easy maintenance, lightweight and in-built features.
Adjustable & Strong
The proposed design was to have the metal sheet connected through the bracket. The overall material was to be made from 2mm Aluminium Sheet. To ensure easy installation of the sheet metal panel, I added Slot Holes in the design to increase and decrease if needed be.
One Panel, Multiple Features
The design is created with one sheet of aluminium with no unnecessary wastage of material. That would proved to be cost efficient. The bending on the top helps to block angular rains while allowing natural lighting into the corridor.  The holes in the middle act as an indication yet allowing for air circulation.
Sense Of Belonging @ Parc Bleu
The design has been installed on the 10 June 2021. It is currently on testing before implementation on the remaining floors.
