Bicycle Signalling System That Could Save Lives
Reggal Original creates an invisible barrier that shields bicycle users from any unnecessary accidents. With the signalling system mounted on the bicycle frame, Reggal Original helps in creating a level of awareness to the surrounding vehicular and pedestrians movements.
Originally as a electrical engineering project, this invention has won the hearts of many well known industrial designer for its simple yet easy to implement features.
The Designing Dilemma
There are always two ways of processes to designing a product: Creating a new product that stands alone or one that blends into the form of the current practice.
Creating a new product may benefit towards easier manufacturing. However, customers may not like to change their current outlook of their bicycle. Therefore, the criteria of being subtle takes prestige over manufacturing goals.
Visible From Every Direction
Reggal Original is designed in a way in which the lights would be visible in areas that other vehicles could see. Simply saying, design place emphasis on lighting up the blind spots of the bicycle.  When thinking about directional lights, we would be turning it should be at the corners and not facing forward. It is being sensitive that makes a design powerful.
Sleek, Keeping It Simple
It is all about the word subtle. Subtle means that designers have to streamline and cut out all the unnecessary clutter and only show the best. When a signalling button has been entered, it show indicate only flashing orange lights just like the current practice of traffic law.
Closing The Gap
To enable the potential of this product, there are a lot of research done at the back and understand the situation. Prototyping in the day, Testing in the night. The product has received feedback from cycling groups and improvements have been pushed.
In the end, the product has received international accreditation from industrial designers around the world.
